This lesson focuses on the various types of impacts (environmental and social) that are caused by climate change. The goal is for students to understand the magnitude of this crisis. We have the solutions to mitigate and adapt and we will need the help of this younger generation of climate warriors.

Lesson 3: High School Climate Solutions Lesson Materials

This lesson focuses on different approaches to finding solutions to climate change and its impacts on humans. The goal is for, by the end of the lessons, students to be able to address some of the barriers to climate solutions and to understand the difference between mitigation, adaptation, and resilience.

Lesson 4: High School Renewable Energy Lesson Materials

This lesson focuses on the various forms of renewable energy, and the benefits they provide in contrast to fossil fuel energy. The goal is for students to understand how fossil fuel use has impacted our climate and in turn humans, and why society must embrace and transition to (clean) renewable energy generation.

Lesson 5: High School Energy Efficiency Lesson Materials

This lesson focuses on the benefits of reducing energy use and energy waste to individuals and the globe, specifically through energy efficiency. The goal is for students to understand what exactly energy efficiency is, and how it can play a role in climate mitigation and adaptation.

Lesson 6: High School Environmental Justice Lesson Materials

This lesson focuses on the history and importance of environmental justice, and how everyone can help make change possible. The goal is for students to understand the history of the movement and how it has influenced the modern-day environmental and climate movement.

Lesson 7: High School Microgrids Lesson Materials

Lesson 7: High School Microgrids Lesson Materials

This lesson focuses on our energy system, its vulnerabilities, and its intersection with environmental justice. The lesson then explores microgrids and their benefits. The goal is for students to understand the basics of energy justice and the importance of having resilient and sustainable energy sources.
