Purpose:
This lesson introduces students to the concept of energy efficiency and the ways in which it can benefit people and the planet. Students will discuss the benefits of reducing energy use and energy waste, and learn about ways to conserve energy in their own homes. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to define the terms energy conservation and energy efficiency and explain the difference between them. They will also be able to communicate the goal of energy efficiency, identify energy efficiency improvements and products, and articulate the importance of and relationship between individual change and system change in regards to combating the climate crisis.
