Envisioning Community Resilience

A collaborative workshop on community resilience hubs

Join Climable and Operation P.E.A.C.E. for this gathering to co-learn about resilience hubs and the ways in which they can benefit residents of Dorchester and other Boston-area communities. Climable will facilitate the conversation, kicking it off with ground-setting fundamentals about resilience hubs. Following this, we will spend the bulk of the event doing visioning activities to support collaborative idea generation for implementing hubs in local communities. Everyone is welcome, no prior knowledge required. Light refreshments will be provided.

If you’re interested in joining, please email maisy@climable.org.

Solar Energy Youth Workshop

Watt's Up with Solar Energy?

Join Climable for an exhilarating, hands-on exploration of one of the most abundant energy sources on earth. We’ll be building houses and buildings from recycled paper products, complete with functional mini solar panels and LED light bulbs, to create a sun-powered neighborhood of our own.

Participants will leave the workshop with a better understanding of how electricity and solar panels work, how different materials impact a building’s energy efficiency, and why working together is the best way to strengthen our communities.

Our workshop is open to youth ages 6 to 12 years. Spots are limited, and day-of registration is required. Fill out the interest form to indicate your child’s intent to attend.

This event is part of the Foundry's fourth annual Festival, happening Saturday, February 14-21! Celebrate this year’s theme, β€œPathways,” through FREE activities for all ages, interests, and skill levels, including art, workshops, and performances that explore the winding paths that unite us. Engage the family during February break, learn a new skill, and build community!

Resilient Power of Sun and Wind Youth Workshop

The sun and wind are all around us. What if we could use them to make our communities stronger and healthier?

Children and parents are invited to join Climable on Monday, February 17th between 12 and 2pm at The Foundry in Cambridge to learn how the sun's light and the wind's movement are used to create electricity, and how this electricity helps our neighborhoods and cities. Participants ages 6 years and older can join us to make clean energy models and learn about the electricity that powers our world. Other activities will be available as well.

This workshop is part of a week-long festival at the Foundry starting February 15th, focused on resilience and community. Use the button below to learn more about The Foundry and the festival!
