Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Our DEI Statement

Diversity refers to the variety of differences among people, including race, gender, age, religion, sexual and gender identity, disability, socio-economic status, and more. Equity is a process that ensures all people have the opportunity to contribute, develop, and grow despite historical, structural, racial, and socio-economic inequities. Inclusion means valuing, respecting, and encouraging the full participation of every individual involved. At Climable, diversity, equity, and inclusion are core values in shaping our workplace culture, guiding our decision-making processes, and ensuring that our projects and outreach efforts are designed to reflect the diverse communities we serve.

Environmental issues have always been social justice issues. With the basic understanding that climate change disproportionately impacts historically marginalized groups,* Climable believes that every individual deserves equal opportunity, respect, and representation when fighting climate injustice. With this in mind and a mission to make climate science and clean energy understandable and actionable for everyone, Climable works primarily with environmental justice communities on resilience, microgrid development, education, and stakeholder engagement.

Climable takes pride in acknowledging and embracing the rich diversity within our organization and the communities we serve.

*A "historically marginalized group" refers to a people who have been subjected to systemic and long-standing disadvantages, discrimination, and exclusion within a society.
