Get vertical for clean air!

Climable is honored to be the Boston Area’s featured nonprofit for the Running Up For Air: Clean Air Vert Challenge! Join the global running community in this challenge to support organizations working to improve air quality through the transition to clean energy - like Climable!

The Running Up For Air: Clean Air Vert Challenge is a nine-day challenge on the exercise tracking app, Strava, hosted in collaboration with Patagonia and Running Up For Air—a clean air advocacy group started by trail runners in Utah.

Run, walk, hike, or roll up 1,000 feet or more between June 1st and June 9th to complete the challenge. Along the way, raise money from your friends and family to support organizations improving air quality, and your commitment to the cause through exercise. Donate the funds you raise to Climable to support our work building community resilience and improved public health through education and clean energy microgrid development!

“According to the World Health Organization, 99 percent of people worldwide are exposed to unhealthy air on a daily basis. As industry grows, cities expand and smoke days outnumber snow days, those risks are only rising. Runners are intimately connected to the simple yet vital act of breathing fresh air, and as a community we are primed to defend that right. After all, activism is an endurance sport, too.

Join this movement by signing up for Strava (or logging in!) and marking your calendars for June 1 - June 9 as a week+ of movement for clean air!

To kick off the Clean Air Vert Challenge, Climable joined Patagonia Cambridge and Patagonia Boston on June 1st at The Blue Hills Reservation in Milton for a day of trail running and hiking. All proceeds raised from refreshments and Chance to Win ticket sales benefited Climable.
