Design considerations for your community's own microgrid

In an ideal world, any and all buildings would be included in a community microgrid. But challenges such as regulatory barriers, lack of funding, and the broader network's design can restrict a project's possibilities. Here we present the main design considerations that should be taken into account when designing your grid.

The design for our community microgrids is flexible, and allows buildings to be added in future phases. We recommend identifying critical buildings in the community for the initial phase. What we would consider critical considerations will be discussed further in this section.
