Chinatown energy literacy Campaign
Climable and our Chinatown community partners, the Chinatown Community Land Trust and Chinatown Power, collaboratively designed an energy literacy campaign tailored to Boston’s Chinatown. This project complements ongoing work around energy democracy, climate resilience, heat mitigation, and open space in Chinatown. It primarily supports the development of a clean energy community microgrid in Chinatown by providing necessary background information and vocabulary around environmental justice issues in the community and contextualizing the need for and benefits of a community microgrid. The project aims to empower residents to provide input on the design of the microgrid and to get involved in advocacy work for environmental justice.
The campaign consists of visually engaging educational materials that draw a link between environmental hazards, public health risks, energy access, and the benefits of a clean energy community microgrid, in plain, everyday terms in English and Written Chinese. Check out the samples below!
